Allie was hired as both the Program Director & Agricultural Director for the non-profit organization Green Heart Project Inc. in spring of 2016. As the Program Director, in addition to creating and implementing the organization's entire curriculum for their in-school and after-school gardening & nutrition programs, Allie also designed the Program Manager roles and trainings, recruitment and hiring processes, interviews and performance reviews. In her role as Agricultural Director, she designed and implemented the school gardens' crop plans, budgets, Good Agricultural Practices standards, record keeping and metrics tracking methods. Her passion for plant care is just as vibrant as her passion for people care, so recruiting, training and maintaining healthy relationships with all of her 180+ volunteers and new staff team of 7 program managers and 7 garden managers was an equal share of her work and time spent at the Green Heart Project. While orchestrating and instructing these farm-to-school education programs, Allie also successfully integrated the student garden produce into 4 of the 5 public school cafeteria line's lunches, partner with over 20 local restaurants to purchase surplus produce and reinvest in the school gardens, and orchestrate two end-of-year family Harvest Dinners with over 954 guests at the largest dinner event.
